In August 2025, Boulder County Hazmat and cooperating agencies conducted a Decontamination (Decon) Drill at AdventHealth Avista Hospital in Louisville, Colorado. The exercise allowed hospital staff to train with decon equipment, preparing them for a potential hazardous materials incident. The Boulder County Hazmat team collaborated with hospital personnel, simulating research, mitigation, and decontamination procedures. This joint effort focused on enhancing communication, scene management, and overall coordination between emergency responders and hospital staff.
