In the second episode of the four-part Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) training video series, “Training To Perform Under Pressure” instructor, Mike McCarthy, provides tips surrounding the use of a TIC to determine where a fire has been at, where it is at now and where it is going based on the flowpath.
VIDEO TRANSCRIPTION:
Are we seeing any convective currents moving up the front of the building? You know, when we put the fire to bed, where’s it been, where’s it at, where’s it going, right?
Knowing that it’s hit the vinyl siding, it’s gonna run up the vinyl siding, burn a hole in the soffit board. Now I’m gonna have a fire on the, uh, you know, in a knee wall.
That’s gonna be a problem. Where’s it been, where’s it at, where’s it going, is this getting any better? Any worse? And what are the symbols that you’re seeing? Is anybody seeing that triangle in a box in the upper left? Anybody in low sensitivity? So enough heat’s now filling this up. He’s in low sensitivity.
